|NL Oct 13 1996 - "Carpenter, Call celebrate fall wedding" Melissa Lynn Carpenter and Lance Cpl. Damon Lee Call were wed Aug 14 in an afternoon ceremony at Hudson United Methodist Church. The Rev. Rovert P. Grow officiated at the double-ring service.|
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Connie Carpenter of Northfield. The bridegroom is the son of Ronald and Jacqualine Call of Hudson.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a ruffled organza gown with off-the-shoulder bodice of hand-beaded Chantilly lace with sweethart neckline, and carried silk flowers she and her sister had fashioned.
Maids of honor were Jennifer Carpenter, sister of the bride, and Darla Call, sister of the bridegroom. Bridesmaids were Rebecca and Kimberly Carpenter, sisters of the bride, and Julie Call, sister-in-law of the bridegroom. Flowergirls were Danielle and Amanda Call, the bridegroom's nieces.
Best men were S/Sgt John MacLean and Lance Cpl. Edward Hurt, friends of the bridegroom. Ushers were Christopher Carpenter, brother of the bride; Devin and Danny Call, brothers of the bridegroom. Ringbearers were Michael and Kenneth Call, nephews of the bridegroom.
A Marine sword ceremony following the ceremony included Pfc. Langbein, L/Cpl. Cool, L/Cpl. Hurt, L.Cpl Cool, Sgt. Call, Sgt. Smith, Sgt. Roseman, Sgt. Montalvo, Sgt. Bolton, S/Sgt. Romoga and S/Sgt. MacLean.
After a reception at Holiday Inn, Hudson, the couple honeymooned in Branson, Mo.
The bride, a 1993 graduate of Nordonia High Scool, is entering the Marine Corps. The bridegroom, a 1991 graduate of Hudson High School, is a member of the United States Marine Corps Infantry.
The newlyweds are living in Jacksonville, NC.
